First Married Man to Give Birth-Thomas Trace Beatie Thomas Trace Beatie, a trans man, known as "The Pregnant Man" after he became pregnant through artificial insemination in 2007. Beatie was born as a female named Tracy Lehuanani LaGondino in 1974 in Hawaii. He had gender reassignment surgery in 2002 when he was 28 to legally become a man. Beatie's wife Nancy Beatie was infertile and can't become pregnent so betie chose to become pregnant. Beatie has given birth to three children. He was also recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's "First Married Man to Give Birth” in 2010. Beatie, 34, who began life as a woman and legally switched to a male identity, while preserving his female reproductive organs, and his wife Nancy, 46, welcomed a daughter at an Oregon hospital on June 29.
